In the event of a medical-related delay, most providers require a documented diagnosis from a licensed medical professional.

a. Your entire covered trip is covered by the plan; and
b. Your return is delayed by any of the unforeseen events listed in Trip Cancellation Trip Interruption or Trip Delay. This extension of coverage will end on the earlier of:
a. The date you reach your return destination; or
b. Seven (7) days after the date the covered trip was scheduled to be completed. If, due to restrictions by a common carrier or a physician, you cannot return home before this extension ends, coverage will be extended for an additional thirty (30) days, or until the first time such restrictions are removed (whichever is earlier), and will remain effective while you travel to the return destination.
